Chai is the word for tea on the Indian subcontinent and worldwide. In the West it generally means a spiced black tea made with milk. Also known as masala chai. Ingredients: Black Tea, Cinnamon, Ginger, Cardamom. 4 oz. pkg. (Comes in a cello bag, but please store in a tightly sealed tin for best retention of freshness and flavor. A 2 oz. tea tin is available separately.)
Brewing directions: add boiling water to 1 tsp. chai tea per 6 ounce cup and let steep for 5-10 minutes To make a true chai drink you may want to add 2 teaspoons of sugar and add enough milk to fill 20% of the volume of the cup and then fill the cup with the brewed chai tea. Great hot or iced! To serve iced, add sugar, let chai tea cool, add milk and pour over cracked ice. |
